Regular 121s help our middle managers (our “Inner Winners” ) navigate the challenges of leadership, providing them with the support and guidance they need through mentorship and coaching.



Women at AMS

Women at AMS is a monthly community session available to all women in our group. The aim of the sessions is to create a support network, a chance to meet people you don’t work with day to day and learn from others. Each session a mix of presentations from external speakers and a monthly Mentor Circle. The group has allowed our women to inspire each other and gain confidence.

Lunch and Learns

We are lucky to have industry leading professionals in all areas of our Group. We know sharing knowledge will not only help our employees grow but also our clients. Monthly lunch and learn sessions range from EDI and Mental Wellbeing sessions to productivity tips or sector specific sessions, allowing people to keep up to date with industry developments, increasing our ability to cross sell.

Mid-year appraisals would take place in August & September, end of year appraisals take place in January & February.
Group competencies are in place for individual appraisals and probations, all our people are measured on Job Knowledge, Self-Development, Work Delivery (Quantity and Quality) Time Management and Communication Skills

Early Careers

Whether you are looking for your first role or interested in changing your career, we go beyond technical training, promoting peer and leadership learning to cultivate well-rounded individuals with the soft skills essential for success. We have demonstrated a consistent and growing commitment to developing our Early Careers team members ensuring that we offer opportunities for growth right from day 1.

This long-term approach includes strategic investments, strong mentoring, and a supportive learning environment, ensuring apprentices thrive both professionally and emotionally.

The AMS Apprentice Academy

Intrinsic to our business model is our AMS Academy. We take school-leavers from the local community who may not have considered an accountancy or tax role and provides them with career paths within professional services. We are proud to develop the future talent and leaders of tomorrow. Our current cohort are all thriving, we received over 100 applications for our latest intake and have invested heavily to extend the Academy from in-house training in accountancy and tax to multiple functions across the Group.

We deliver bespoke Leadership Training, supporting our leaders in developing their own performance and driving the performance of their teams.

This has been very popular. Our range of training programmes instil confidence, problem solving and the ability for everyone to thrive whatever role they are in.

Expectations of a Leader: All new managers will be expected to sit and pass an Expectations of a Leader course after being promoted or joining us.

Emerging Leaders: A 12 Month Programme that allows our “Inner Winners” to shine. We have a lot of talented people in our business, and this allows us to work with them to help them prepare to take the next step in their AMS journey.

AMS Leadership Academy: The AMS Leadership academy, this is an 18-month programme broken down into modules. It is a mix of online, classroom training and presentations. We work with managers to develop their skills and confidence, learn new skills and drive performance in their own team.
